Preview the next dash update Xbox360nxeikjwd

If you live in the U.S. and like to fiddle with updates to the Xbox 360's user interface before they're fully baked, you can sign up now to be among a select few who'll have a chance to do so soon.

Microsoft spokesperson and Twitter-chatty Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb wants your help testing the company's next Xbox 360 System Update--all you need to do is sign up here with whichever Windows LIVE ID connects to your Xbox LIVE Gamertag.

"This is an important update as we continually strive to improve our products and we could not do so without the help of our great Xbox community," wrote Hryb on his official blog.

That's not all: Hryb says anyone who signs up will get a free copy of Halo: Reach, "along with other possible rewards." Not too shabby.

You'll need to fill out a survey, of course, but if you're selected--and Hryb says they're aiming to include "multiple thousands of participants"--you'll be notified by "mail" (I think he means "email") that you made the cut.

One last thing: Xbox LIVE Silver (read: free) members can sign up too, but Hryb says priority spots will go to Xbox LIVE Gold members. If you're not already a member, that means the preview could set you back $60 for a year, $25 for three months, or $10 for 30 days.
